In the previous match on batting first they registered biggest total of this year IPL which was of 235 runs, first Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 35 runs then Devon Conway continued his good form as he scored 56 runs but then came Magical Rahane in 29 balls scored 71 runs and it was not over as after that Shivam Dube played a finishing knock of 50 runs in just 21 balls. In the second innings all the bowlers picked wickets but Tushar Deshpande and Mahesh Theekshana both picked up 2 wickets as Chennai Super Kings won the match easily by 49 runs.
