The 17th Match of the Indian Premier League(IPL) 2023, will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on 12th April. So both teams have won 2 games out of 3 matches they have played till now. Csk will face off Rajasthan Royals at their home ground. Chennai Super Kings are coming after defeating Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets as on bowling first restricted MI to 157 runs, Ravindra Jadeja was brilliant as he picked up 3 wickets along with him Mitchell Santner and Tushar Deshpande both picked up 2 wickets each. In the second innings Ruturaj Gaikwad was again good with the bat as he scored unbeaten 40 runs but the man who came out of nowhere was Ajinkya Rahane who was playing his first match of the season and scored his 50 in just 19 balls as CSK won the match comfortably. On the other hand Rajasthan Royals are also coming after winning their previous match as on batting scored 199 runs, their openers were again destructive as Yashasvi Jaiswal played 60 runs knock and Jos Buttler Played 79 runs knock, later Shimron Hetmyer cameo of 39 runs helped RR to register a good total, In the second innings Trent Boult and Yuzi Chahal were good as they both picked up 3 wickets each and Rajasthan Royals won the match comfortably. RR Batting has been brilliant this season as in all their 3 matches they have scored above 190 runs. For CSK their are some injury problems as Ben Stokes and Deepak Chahar will not play few matches.

At Chidambaram Stadium we witnessed the old 2011 pitch where at that time it was a high scoring pitch but afterwards this Chennai pitch was low scoring pitch and also very much spin friendly, in the first match spinners were effective yet again but this time batter's also enjoyed the surface.
