For the west indies series, the three squads are announced by South Africa. In this, they follow the ongoing cricket test series with the new captain to take charge in some format.

They named their T20I and ODI squads for the limited-over test series against the west indies team. The 28-year-old Aiden Markram will take over the T20I as the captain and replace the Temba bavuma, who resigned from the test series the previous month. Markram is the one who led the U19 team south Africa towards victory in the ICC men cricket world cup in 2014
