The 21st Match of the Indian Premier League(IPL) 2023 , will be played between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on 15th April.

Lucknow Super Giants after playing 4 matches have 3 and in the previous match it was nail biting finish as they won the match by just 1 wicket. On bowling first conceded 212 runs all the bowlers went for runs except Mark Wood who was economical and also picked up 1 wicket. While chasing the target they lost 3 wickets in the power play but Marcos Stoinis hold the innings with his 65 runs knock but the game changing knock was of Nicholas Pooran which was of 62 runs in just 19 balls that took the game in the favor of Lsg and in the end their luck was good as they just ended on the winning side. On the other hand Punjab Kings will be playing back to back games, just one day break they got and that they didn't practice last night. In the previous match on batting first they scored a reasonable total of 153 runs apart from Openers. It was a good contribution from their middle order batsman, Matthew Short was the highest scorer with 36 runs. In the second innings bowlers did well to take the game till the last over as Sam Curran got the ball in hand to defend just 7 runs but he was unable to do it although it was a close match in the end. Punjab Kings bowling will suit the Lucknow surface.

The Lucknow surface is not a flat one as batter's face difficulty in scoring runs but bowlers especially medium fast bowlers are very effective. 11 T20's have been played, 6 have been won by team batting second and 5 by team batting first, so loosing toss isn't a big factor here.
